Yogyakarta, July 21st until 22nd 2011 i join international seminar and fourth national conference on mathematics education in Yogyakarta state university (YSU) as participant. As review, YSU selected by agreement of Indonesia mathematics society (Indo MS) to be host in fourth national conference on mathematics education. Not only organizing the conference the commitee also held International Seminar in series of fourth national conference on mathematics education with Masami Isoda from University of Tsukuba, Japan as special guess. This congress was invite many intelectual people, from all world that makes me motivated by them. The congress was so excited, many mathematician was atended in this congress. There are three part of International seminar and fourth conference on mathematics education :
- Stadium General
- Plenary Session
- Tour de Lava
In stadium general part there is only one keynote speaker. Dr. Ary Ginanjar Agustian (Founder ESQ, Indonesia) give us stadium general with theme : Education as the basis for the development of national character. Dr. Ary said that
Performance = Motivation^3 * capability
the meaning of the formula of performance is if we want a good performance in our life we must improve our motivation three times more usually. And to make it stronger we must multiply it with capability. And the conclusion is to be a good person, we not only improve our skill and knowledge but also our heart. This is the first problem in Indonesia. So this is the TRUE TASK for the teachers to build national character to the students , make a new slap to safe Indonesia. Our lovely nation.
Plenary Session
There are 6 plenary session in this seminar. With 6 awesome keynote speakers, there are , Prof. Jozua Sabandana, Ph.D (University of Education Indonedia, Bandung) , Prof. Dr. Sutarto Hadi (University of Lambung Mangkurat, Banjarmasin) , Prof. Noor Azlan Ahmad Zanzalli, Ph.D (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia), Prof. Masami Isoda (University of Tsukuba Japan) , Prof. Christa Kaune (Institut fur Kognitive Mathematik, Universitat Osnaburck, Germany) and the last keynote speaker is my lovely lecture , Dr. Marsigit (Yogyakarta State University) .
The plenary session was so excited. I got many important things from the Plenary session. But i have some little problem with the language especially the plenary session from Prof. Masami Isoda and Prof. Christa Kaune. Maybe the dialect that makes me feel hard to understand what they mean. But i got a booklet from the commitee so maybe i will read it in another time.
Especially for mathematics student bachelor degree in Yogyakarta State University got opportunity to follow the special stadium general with Masami Isoda. He presented about Geometry especially analytic geometry. Hmm...that's so fun, I enjoy it very much.
I'm proud and happy to be participant in this international seminar. Hopely in next international seminar i can be one of the speakers. :D
