Mathematics education research can be done with many ways such as qualitative research. In qualitative research, the researcher is neutral and just researching about the symptoms looked and measured with valid and reliable instrument. Qualitative research use logical-hypothetic-verification method in their mindset, with steps like, determined hypothesis about mathematical learning, collect data about mathematical learning practiced, data analysis, hypothesis testing, conclusion, write the report, and finish. So, the principal of qualitative research in mathematical learning is to observe the process of mathematical learning in mathematical environment, interacted with them, try to understand the language and interpretation about mathematical learning.
Condition and effort to find out phenomenon in mathematical learning can be drawn with herminitic circle. Herminitic circle in mathematics education research gives full aware to researcher that mathematical learning with the components was not sterile but connected one aspect to other aspects and the context in past to present in learning. There is two herminitic, realistic herminitic and deconstructive herminitic. Realistic Herminitic, teacher focused on certain aspects on mathematical learning to explain to the students about mathematical learning. Deconstructive herminitic, human have limited skills, but teacher need to attempt in order to the student got the mathematics world with doing mathematics world deconstructive. The space of  mathematics education research are able to get encouragement from researcher to do renew of mathematics education, where the innovation can be from conceptual, value, pragmatic, empirical, or political.
Point of view about substance and characteristic of school mathematic will give whole mathematics characteristic. Mathematics as activity searching pattern and relation that implicating to research. Mathematics as a creativity that implicating to research. Mathematics as problem solving that implicating to research. Mathematics as a communication tools that implicating to research. Commonly, it is normally that mathematics education in future will be student-centered, where student is the center of learning. Action classroom research can used by teacher to developing and perfecting learning models by getting input from problems in classroom.  There is a statement that opened-teacher is easily accept renewal, accept input, easily in doing research, can reflected their teaching, more tolerance with students. Profession is a person who pursue with their job based on skills. Teacher profession competency involve pedagogic competency, personality competency, social competency, professional competency. Developing Professionalism can be done involves, MGMP forum, workshop/seminar, lesson study, etc. If the teacher wants to renewal of mathematics education, so research is needed. By mathematics education research, we know about there is different opinion in group discussion, we understand about the level of students in group, and we can compare the result of each group.
