Entering the third millennium the Indonesian nation marked by an era of reform in all areas of life, which are difficult times as a result of the severe economic crisis. Phenomenon that emerged from a prolonged crisis shows the changes in various aspects of political life, economy, law and education. Even that alleged emergence of a second economic crisis which consequently may be more severe than the first economic crisis. Are they Global association without limit or boundary? Who initiates and who is ending? Who controls and who mastered? What's changed and what's so still? Whether the remaining increasingly rampant idealism or pragmatism and culture of instant?
Presumably, it is well enough facts to show that Indonesia was already time to reexamine the nation's development paradigm. Education can provide a foundation for the development of the noble values of the legal reform, political, economic, culture and others. Thus, reforms in education are a claim that can not be bargained. The era of reform and to provide more hope, challenge and opportunity, but many are still questioning the expectations, challenges and opportunities to the world what we in education reform. It thus seems inappropriate in knowing by all parties are called to promote education in Indonesia. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the demands for reform, the fundamental issues at the macro from the world of education rise surface including the eradication of corruption, quality improvement, decentralization and autonomy of education, legislation, empowerment and participation, paradigm.
Math scores can be seen from the context of ontological, epistemological and axiological within the limits of intrinsic value, extrinsic and systemic. For a self-learner of mathematics then the lowest value of mathematics is that if only his own use, a higher value if math can be used for public interest. But the highest math scores is if it can be used systemically for wider interest. But the values of mathematics that is developed should be coupled with critical thinking because mathematics is none other than critical thinking itself. The sharpness of the future of mathematics can wander through the concept of teleology that what happens in the future at least be photographed through the present. Nevertheless there are still other values are related to levels of quality. At first the quality of math scores only appear on the outside, but on the quality of the second and third and so on then the value of mathematics is metaphysical. With analog thinking then what happens to the disclosure of the value of mathematics can be used also in the disclosure of the noble values of the nation.
