MEMANFAATKAN MICROSOFT 2007 SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN GEOMETRI DI SMP

Microsoft word 2007 is simple and very easy to access it, because this software is available in computer with new edition. Microsoft word 2007 is equipped with SmartArt icon, so we can make various graphs, geometry planes, and give animation and text to the graphs. To make a basic plane, we can choose Insert menu then click on Shape button. There are various geometry planes such as triangle, square, circle, etc. To make a plane with SmartArt, we just click insert menu then select SmartArt icon and choose the layout that we want.

Microsoft word 2007 is one of media in mathematics learning, especially we can use it to teach Junior High School’s students. In Autoshapes menu, there are many planes, to make one of them, we just click on the figure and drag it in the worksheet of Microsoft word 2007. In geometry there are three kinds of triangle, that are right triangle, obtuse triangle, and acute triangle. To make right triangle, we can divide square in two parts with the same size, we divide it in diagonal. To make obtuse triangle, we use parallelogram. To make acute triangle, we use rhombus and divide in diagonal so become two parts with the same size. 

To make a polyhedral we choose 3D icon in drawing toolbar menu. How to determine the volume and the surface area? We can determine volume refer to prism. The volume is the base area multiply with the height. So the volume of cylinder is pi x r2 x h (h is the height of cylinder). Microsoft word 2007 also help teacher in transformation. Transformation is consist of translation, rotation, reflection, and dilatation. Translation in create a new shape with the same size but we drag it from the first shape. In other word it’s called drag the shape or plane. To make it, we can drag the figure. To make a rotation, we click at the plane and choose rotation icon. To make reflection, we choose flip icon and the last is to make dilatation, we can press shift button while dragging the point of plane. With Microsoft word 2007, students learn mathematics in new method so they are not bored.
